Warcraft 2's Horde Campaign Reimagined for Free in Warcraft 3: Reforged

A group of devoted Warcraft fans known as LoreCraft Designs has successfully recreated the entire Horde campaign from Warcraft 2 within the Warcraft 3: Reforged engine. This ambitious 17-mission project, titled "Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness," features new mechanics, artwork, and even original voice acting, providing a fresh and modernized experience for players of Warcraft 3: Reforged at no additional cost.

Comprising seven designers and numerous contributors, the LoreCraft team faced the challenging task of adapting Warcraft 2's content to the Warcraft 3 engine, considering the substantial differences between the two games and lore inconsistencies that have evolved over nearly three decades of the franchise's existence. The fruits of their labor are now available to players in the form of the first half of the Warcraft Chronicles of the Second War project.

This free Warcraft 3: Reforged map set encompasses 17 missions that narrate the story of the Horde campaign from Warcraft 2, enhanced with contemporary lore elements from World of Warcraft and background novels. The custom campaign introduces brand-new cinematics, original voice acting, remastered soundtracks, and innovative game mechanics, allowing enthusiasts to relive Warcraft 2 within a more modernized engine.

Simultaneously, the designers are working on "Chains of Conquest," a mod that retells and expands upon the story of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, encompassing the rise of the Horde in Warcraft lore and the fall of the Draenei, although it remains in the early stages of development.
