The New CEO of MTN Cameroon received by MINESEC

Prof. NALOVA LYONGA granted an audience to Mrs MITWA NG’AMBI (the New CEO of MTN Cameroon), on Thursday 19 January 2023.

This audience was the first working session between the Minister of Secondary Education and Mrs MITWA NG’AMBI as she is newly appointed at the head of MTN Cameroon. Prof. NALOVA LYONGA and her guest, very delighted to meet each other, convivially discussed on refreshing and reinforcing the partnership between MINESEC and MTN Cameroon.

Prof. NALOVA LYONGA shared with her guest the background related to the digital payment of school and exam fees in Cameroon and the reception given to the project. They discussed the various challenges related to official exam candidates listing. This was in the presence of the Secretary of State to the Ministry of Secondary Education in charge of Teachers’ Training, Sir BAYAOLA Boniface, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Prof Fabien NKOT and other members of her staff.

Mrs MITWA NG’AMBI, present in Cameroon for about 3 months now, expressed her delight to meet prof. NALOVA LYONGA whose work she’s heard a lot: “I’ve heard so much about you… from my predecessor (Mr Stephen Blewett) and the team that interact so frequently with you,” she said to the Minister. She appraised all the efforts made by the Ministry of Secondary Education as regards digitalization. The CEO found the digital payment of school and exam fees quite a revolutionary programme and unique in Africa. She expressed her readiness to support MINESEC. During this audience, Mr SHU FAI, member of the CEO’s delegation, was presented as the focal point at MTN Cameroon for MINESEC.

The Minister ended the audience expressing her happiness dealing with a partner she can easily approach. Other working sessions involving technical teams on both sides are to hold in the coming days with the aim of addressing the issues discussed during this meeting.
