The ceremony to inaugurate and launch the activities of the artistic and cultural gallery for Secondary Education at the National Museum took place in Yaounde, on 25 January 2023.
The event was chaired by Boniface Bayaola, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Secondary Education in charge of Teachers’ Training, alongside the representative of the Ministry of Arts and Culture and some high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Secondary Education.
The gallery is the fallout of the fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Secondary Education and that of Arts and Culture in the promotion of National Arts and Cultures in secondary schools. During the ceremony, students offered a cultural jamboree to the audience through fine, musical and performing arts.
The Secretary of State acclaimed the inauguration of the gallery, stressing that it will serve as a window to showcase students’ artistic and cultural talents, thus giving them an opening to the world. He urged school officials to create a conducive environment for students to develop their artistic skills and later on be financially self-sufficient. The Inspectorate of pedagogy in charge of the Teaching of Letters, Arts and Languages commits to use all available means to deliver on this mission, assured Ottou Ombga, Inspector-Coordinator General.
