"INVEST IN WOMEN: ACCELERATE PROGRESS"

     The Ministry of Secondary Education (MINESEC) marked the 39th edition of the International Women's Day on March 8, 2024, with a grand celebration centered around the theme "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress." The event featured a vibrant match pass along the iconic 20th May Boulevard, followed by a banquet held at the MINESEC premises.

IWD Celebration 8 March 1

     The IWD celebration at MINESEC which aimed to honour the achievements of women while highlighting the need to invest in their empowerment served as a platform to recognize the significant role of women in the society.

     The day commenced with a spirited match pass along the bustling 20th May Boulevard, where women from various backgrounds and professions, came together to showcase their solidarity and strength. The match pass featured colourful banners and placards promoting women's rights, gender equality, and the importance of investing in women.

 Following the match pass, participants preceded to the MINESEC premises, where a banquet awaited them. The banquet ground was adorned with elegant decorations, reflecting the spirit of the occasion. Distinguished guests, including the Secretary of State in Charge of Teachers’ Training in MINESEC, the Secretary General of MINESEC and the Inspector General of Education, alongside the women of MINESEC were in attendance. During the banquet, SESEEN delivered a speech, encouraging women to enjoy their feast.

     The event also provided a platform for women to express their joy as they feasted and danced, thereby fostering a sense of unity and solidarity among them, marking a resounding success, which left a lasting impression on all participants. It served as a reminder of the crucial role women play in education and society, and the importance of investing in their development.
